Siomay Ingredients

  • 250 grams of Frosala peeled shrimp
  • 500 grams of fillet chicken
  • 1 egg white, well beaten
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ carrot
  • 2 tbsp of sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp of tapioca flour
  • 2 tbsp of oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of pepper powder
  • Siomay wrappers

Dipping sauce ingredients

  • 6 tbsp of chili sauce
  • 4 tbsp of tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of mushroom stock
  • 100 ml of water
  • ½ tbsp of cornstarch, dissolved in water
  • Salt

How to Make Chicken and Shrimp Siomay

  1. Grind the shrimp, chicken fillet, and garlic using a food processor.
  2. Mix the ground shrimp, chicken fillet, and garlic with sugar, salt, pepper powder, oyster sauce, and sesame oil.
  3. Add the beaten egg white and tapioca flour. Stir well.
  4. Grate the carrot.
  5. Prepare the siomay wrappers then put the dough into each wrapper.
  6. Top each siomay with grated carrot.
  7. Coat the bottom of the steamer with cooking oil to prevent it from sticking.
  8. Steam the siomay for 20-25 minutes.
  9. While the siomay cooks, mix and boil chili sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, mushroom stock, water, and salt in a separate pan.
  10. Once it boils a little, add the cornstarch solution and stir well until thickened.
  11. Remove the sauce and pour into a small bowl.
  12. Once cooked, remove the siomay and serve with the sauce.
